I was lucky enough to pick up quite a haul of Enid Gilchrist pattern books as well as a New Idea magazine from 1965.
I've spent hours pouring over the patterns & have read the New Idea cover to cover.
New Idea circa 1965 was very much like a crafty pages I read online.
-there's only an occasional mention of a celebrity
-there are tips contributed by large numbers of women from all around the country
-there are patterns contributed by readers as well as women with considerable skill
-recipes & cooking tips
