    Looking for alternatives...

Trying to find an alternate eco friendly cushion stuffing
    strips of sheeting = fail.

    I'm a seeker, a thinker & a tinker.

I think I've lost my way a bit with this little patch of online space & I'm trying to find my way back.

I feel like maybe I lost the "Koo" & was worrying a bit too much about the "to yoou" somewhere along the way.

Overthinking all this really & what I really want to say is...

The running is so much of who I am & although my runners are loyally Asics I'm adopting a "Nike" attitude to my craft & this little patch too. I need to challenge myself more & maybe you too?

    Just do it!

I'm all about challenge & beginnings - I want more of those. There'll be a few invitations coming your way soon & I hope some of you will pull your crafty runners on with me.

    Five

High 5 to Pip for this.

5 favourite thoughts, which turned into clicks, which turned into more thoughts from this week.

    1. It's all about the pincushion & as a result I've found...
    2. Namolio ... just beautiful, beautiful pieces.
    3. Crochet doilies. I'm really quite obsessed - I think it was the refashion of the chair...
    4. which leads me to wood & specifically the burning of wood.
    5. I've been thinking about cushions for my couch too. Check out this lovely space.

    Beginning

It's already 33 degrees & we are heading for 43 so I'm thinking cool thoughts, going to the movies & planning some quiet embroidery with a cool colour palette.

  • Hot & Not...

    Hot & Not...
    Hot & Not Mixtape

I've got plenty o' hot this week...

    - Mixtapezine. I read this yesterday while I ate my bircher (also hot). There's a lot to love about this edition...Sooz's thoughts on rules...The Date's music reviews...Aunty Cookie tear out...Gemma Jones cover...& the "multi tasker tute" by me.

    - Starting to feel like the new house is almost "done".

    - My stud finder... a really truly one for walls (not the failing eyes or the overworked ticker).

    - Pin cushions. Really how many does one girl need? If you think you might need another. The square one is here & the pieced hexagon pincushion is here.

    - A visit on the fly to The Mill.

& very little of the not...

    - Just tired...to the core. Even missed the long run last week - you know it's serious.

More hot & not over at loobylu.

  • Shaking things up...

    I'm clean slating at kootoyoo.

I've made myself a new banner & am considering a move to Typepad. It seems like it's easier to keep everything under control over there? I'd appreciate your thoughts if you've experience in both blogger & typepad.

I've been feeling that things have gotten a little stale over here & am enjoying the friendly banter over at twitter. I want to make things a bit more friendly here too. We'll see how it goes...

This is the current blog roll. All well loved blogs I visit but I'm needing to shake things up around here.

I like it over there - they get me thinking & just at the moment I'm really enjoying the free flowing thoughts & ideas at make & meaning.

More faux wood embroidery. I'm obsessed...I'm breathing, dreaming, running & "zoning" this stuff. I love it!

  • On my desk...

    On my desk...

are lots of new bits & pieces.

The article from yesterday featuring lovely Pip.

The preliminary drawings for our big & exciting something (I haven't reduced the image so you can have a snoop & just see what that room on the right is - it makes me quite squirmy- eeeek).

A lovely Loobylu parcel in the post today & waiting on my desk when I got home from work.

My luscious crown the girls made me last year. The small crowned me when I was at the computer last night.

Blank Matryoshka. I've been wanting to have a crack at a set of these for a while now. This lovely girl is working on a set too.

The remains of the crochet baby blanket that the small has slept with, watched TV with & basically carted around with her for her entire life. It's name is Huky & it's the most revolting, manky old bit of string but loved more than anything! Jess will appreciate its importance.

All sorts of other little books, knick knacks & crafty supplies.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts on my community post from yesterday - they have been greatly appreciated.

Please excuse the awful pic - this daylight saving thing has thrown me a bit.

  • Thinking about colour...

    Thinking about colour...
    Colour

Right, we're all systems go. The old house is going to be sold.

We've got a fair bit of work to do to get it ready.

Some of it's going to be fun..."shopping" for hire furniture but most of it is pretty bland.

The windows & all the ironwork (60s) needs to be painted. I think it needs to be darker than the Colourbond Jasper of the render.

If you've got any thoughts on this I'd really appreciate your feedback.

  • Ideas...

    Ideas...

I wasn't planning on posting til this afternoon. Just popped down to check my email & found that my pants kicking mate had stopped in with a gentle nudge. What's a girl to do?

I know I've talked before about the run & ideas. It's when I get my best ideas & when I've got time to quietly mull them over & decide if, in fact, they are good ideas or just flights of exercise induced fancy.

Sooz's thoughts on ideas got me thinking a bit more & I thoroughly enjoyed the post it notes inside Pea Soup's brain (much like my own). Surely, I can't keep all those post it notes in any logical sequence. I don't run that fast but probably fast enough to lose a post it note or two. I need to devise a better plan...

...in the meantime I'm beginning another music box. It's just like the first one I made.

The coffee staining of the stash fabric is complete & the printing done too. Now I just need to get cracking on the assembly.

Truly, it's all about the little things...growing babies, ideas, & just about everything else.

    Glue

I'm all about the glue at the moment.

Glue & dorcas pins. I'm enjoying mucking around with all manner of pin & pincushion ideas in the foreground while I continue with a few more major projects in the background (I promise the white mini is one of those projects).

A lovely glass half full space from last week can be found right here.

I'm trying out a new link system this week which also has an end time. Fingers crossed it works out OK. If you've got any thoughts on this vs mr linky please feel free to comment. I decided to stick with the text link as I think it probably encourages people to get around & have a chat.

  • Inside running...

    Inside running...
    Inside Running

I know I've talked a bit about the run & the "zone" & the ideas.

This year I'm trying to keep a log book of the run. I'm scribbling things down as soon as I get home...just for my own interest really. I'm keen to follow the Hansel & Gretel trail from first idea through a few runs & finally see it begin (or maybe not). I'm going to photograph it each day & either post here or on Flickr.

So on today's run I thought a LOT about the laptop stand I'm building in my head & then later today I gathered a few bits & pieces from around the house to start work.

Other random thoughts included floor rugs, sink mats, texture, geometric doodles I used to do in Primary School.

I'm brainstorming ways to make our full-of-potential courtyard user friendly until we have some cash & thought maybe I might make a huge hessian "quilt" for it.

    Creative Space Blanket

The weather has well & truly turned in Melbourne. There's a crispness in the air & I've turned my thoughts to keeping warm. I'm mucking around with an old blanket & some Perle 8.

I'm hoping to have something to show by the end of Easter.

There have been a couple of minor hiccups which may foil my plans. I've got one kid with the vomits & an over indulge on the download limit which has left me on the go SLOW. I won't be able to pop around this week but I'll look forward to catching you all next week.

Visit last week's favourite space here.

Don't forget to pop in & add your link if you're playing along this week.
