Seriously love this. I wonder if Len might have been a frustrated electrician? I love the fact that these lights were strung in such a temporary way & yet they are hard wired and appear to have been in situ for at least a couple of decades.

Things to love about this shot...
    -yellowed masking tape
    -vintage christmas lights
    -glitter
    -woodgrain contact used as wallpaper
-christmas in July (all year, every year for that matter)

    Happy weekend.

    but oh my gosh.

I'm not sure how I hadn't seen this before but the very clever Paul Thurlby has the whole alphabet! I shall be starting with "A".

I was searching for "zip" on flickr & had planned a whole my handbag zip's busted thingy & needing to make a new one but now I'll just be killing a bit more time in Paul's shop & on his blog too.

    Just so good.

  • Looking...

    Looking...

at this Avon sampler box of soaps. I just love the colours.

    & at this gorgeous blog.

Cam & Jess are living an enviable life ... vegies, chooks, each other & a sweet as anything little boy.

  • The Date plays golf...

    The Date plays golf...

& today he won! (convincingly...9 holes up with 8 to play)

He's the Club Champion. It's been a long time between drinks. He hasn't won since 2001.

  • Now you see me...

    Now you see me...

    now you don't.

They spent lots of time standing on their feet & lots of time being dumped!

The dial up thing means reply is tricky... I've just created a transparent gif from the film strip image & layered it over the photos.

  • That's what I'm talking about ...

    That's what I'm talking about ...

Happy, happy boys at our place.

The kids & I crafted this banner yesterday morning before the game & here it is featured at the MCG.

A big day for the Hawks & a really big day for Shane Crawford.

I had to be content to watch on the TV with the girls.

The big girl & I had a chat about the merits of Brad Sewell. I told her I'd happily leave the date for him. Big girl looked at me with eyes rolling skyward & said "What on earth makes you think that he'd leave whoever he's with for you". She's nothing if not realistic.

The little guy hosts Sunday Supper...

Sunday Supper hosted by Meet me at Mikes.

The little guy & I have spent the afternoon in the kitchen doing a bit of cooking for school lunches.

I've made cake: one for Brown Owls & one for snacks.

The little guy made raspberry pikelets.

    Raspberry Pikelets
    1 1/2 cups SR flour
    1 Tbs caster sugar
    1 egg beaten
    1 cup of milk

    1/3 bag frozen raspberries

Mix flour & sugar together in a bowl.

Make a well in the centre of the dry ingredients.

Add milk & egg to the well & using a wooden spoon gradually beat dry ingredients into the milk & egg.

Once mixed stir through the raspberries.

Heat fry pan, grease lightly & add spoonfuls of the pikelet mix to the pan turning once the bubbles appear...you know the drill.

Cool inside a tea towel on a wire rack. I'm not sure why you do this but my mum did it & my grandma did it so it must be right!

Freeze in a plastic container & add to school lunch boxes.

They thaw beautifully in time for play lunch. We do this for cake & muffins too.

    It's really a resin brooch...

but I like to mix things up & in my "mum uniform" I can't really pull off a brooch.

This gorgeous resin bird brooch is made by the clever boy half of this dynamic duo.

PS: It's really hard to take a pic of the back of your own head.

This is ... what scrambles my brain when I try to understand it

This is... hosted by Three Buttons & theme from Flightless Boyds.

    He's my brother.
    He's tech support.
    He's super smart.
    He's creative.
    He's clever.
    He's encouraging.
    He's funny.
    He's about 5 steps ahead.
    He does good stuff.
    He works hard.
    He plays hard.
    He thinks a LOT.

I try really hard & most of the time I'm pretty good but every now & then I just look at him blankly & shake my head.

I'd love to have these guys as parents...

What a life this little baby is destined for!

Last year I saw really cool side sleeper for babies & thought how super cute they were & now I've received this via email from my cousin.

What a lucky baby to have this magnificent side sleeping bed made with such love by both his/her parents. It's absolutely the BEST thing I've ever seen & I'm so proud to be related to these guys.
