  • Looking...

    Looking...

at this Avon sampler box of soaps. I just love the colours.

    & at this gorgeous blog.

Cam & Jess are living an enviable life ... vegies, chooks, each other & a sweet as anything little boy.

  • Nice stuff...

    Nice stuff...

Enjoying this vintage water paints book - tested but the paints are dried up. No matter, it's gorgeous just as it is.
    Being excited for hard workers.
Admiring pretty dresses made from vintage sheets.
Being treated to some brand new loveliness by someone sweet.
Thinking about the sewing machine humming over here.

I'm older than you & I'm sure I saw him first.

  • The picnic...

    The picnic...

was such a lot of fun:

    lovely chatter
    sipping
    laughing
& a wee bit of peddling

The rockstars a la mike & the smalls had a brilliant time:

    tree climbing
    swinging
    dodge balling
    & swing dodging

... one point the big girl was laughing so hard she spat & snorted apple juice.

  • Album cover notebook...

    Album cover notebook...

Such a lovely way to end the weekend.

I couldn't bear to cut my single cover up so I used it whole.

Gemma was extremely well prepared (no surprises there) & I spent a relaxed afternoon chatting, drinking coffee, eating musk sticks & working away.

Miss Kitty's Emporium is super cute - jam packed with Cath Kidston.

Looking forward to the next kute event.

  • One good thing...

    One good thing...

Thank you Bricolagelife for the inspiration.

I've actually got a few today:

One good thing: Meet Me at Mikes Pendant. Handmade by the mikes crew & super good. Available here.

One good thing: Good tradesmen who work on Saturdays & are clean & neat & making my house look so good.

One good thing: Going out for good coffee & breakfast with a good guy.

I'm looking forward to a day filled with good things.

  • Tripping over hearts...

    Tripping over hearts...

In the laneway on the way to pick up my coffee this morning. I didn't touch it - I hope it made someone else smile.

    They are popping up everywhere.

Do you know where this laneway is?

  • She's so good...

    She's so good...

    I love this girl.

She's got it all going on.

    Adventurous
    Spirited
    Determined
    Thoughtful
& just so good with the words.

This last point especially important for me at the moment when I feel as if I have no words left! I can go & have a pretty drink with this girl & think "coulda woulda shoulda" written something like that on my blog today.

I just wish she lived in Melbourne. We'd be firm friends I'm sure.

  • The week that was...

    The week that was...

    DELIGHTFUL.
    Snippets from my week.

I purchased a few pairs of jeans from the Op Shop to finish of this project. When I got them home I examined them more closely & found one of the pairs to be fits-like-a-glove & tracky-dack-comfy...delightful.

I met a friend for coffee. She was running late - yay just enough time to duck into the Op Shop next door. I purchased a taped closed supermarket bag full of what I knew to be handwork of some kind. What I discovered was the handwork pictured above...delightful.

On my daily mouse-mobile travels I read this post on a blog well loved by many and written by lovely local Claire. The post was simple and utterly...delightful.

A souvlaki pizza enjoyed with beautiful tier one friends & pretty drinks & made by the date...delightful.

  • Op Shop til you drop 21...

Op Shop til you drop 21...

I've bled my favourite Op Shop dry. I popped in there yesterday & for the first time ever walked away with nothing.

I was thinking there would be nothing to show this week but today I made a few stops on my drive from Fitzroy home & picked up quite a nice boot full.

Pics are of the "best" Op Shopped finds from today.

The beauty cases are a present for someone very close to my heart. I know she is going to love them.

  • Today is a party day...

    Today is a party day...

I just discovered that Claire is blogging again.

It was quite by accident that I stumbled upon the craft blogging community...

A google search 2 years ago for sterilising jars landed me at:

kitschenette or more accurately the red kitchen which led me to Claire, Soulemama, Nikkishell & the rest is history.

Thank you all so much & yay yay hooray Claire.

  • Sweetness...

    Sweetness...

"borrowed" from the neighbours garden and delivered to my desk by my beautiful kids.

  • 30 days of the everyday - Day 15...

30 days of the everyday - Day 15...

Is it terrible to want for yourself something you have given with love?

This is the bookshelf of the big girl. It is her pride & joy & always looks lovely. The rest of her room looks pretty much like the bombsite (which is almost clean).

She is beside herself over this dress we bought at Meet me at Mikes.

  • Lucky me...

    Lucky me...

Today I was given this pack of Japanese Fabric scraps.

My mother in law gave it to me to say thanks for rigging up a DIY grey water system at her beach house. The washing machine now flows out onto the native garden and the bath has a garden hose syphon.

This little gift in the middle of a craft-dry couple of weeks was a lovely surprise & so thoughtful. Gifts given for no reason are the very best kind don't you think?

    It's a good life.

  • Lolly day 17...

    Lolly day 17...

Love heart lollypops don't taste fabulous but I love them because they are so cute.

Spreading the love is what it's all about at this time of year & these little babies surely put a smile on your face & a little glow in your heart.

The added bonus being that they don't taste minty. They taste just as a red lolly should.

  • Hot date...

    Hot date...

    tomorrow night.

We are catching up with some friends who are moving to Singapore tomorrow night & I'm bringing Strawberry Slushies.

The arm's a bit sore from juicing all those limes but it's so worth it. The kitchen smells all strawberry sweet.

I've got a few mates popping in for a drink tonight. I'll be having capiroska. Perfect weather for a nice and icy kind of drink don't you think?

    I like Friday.

  • Lolly day 16...

    Lolly day 16...

Milk bottles are so good. They absolutely positively must be fresh though. A stale milk bottle, just like stale milk is really gross.

I've been in discussion with my husband regarding the lolly freshness factor. He thinks I'm ridiculous for insisting on freshness. But I know I am not alone in insuring that my lolly is "fresh is best". My beautiful sister won't buy lollies from servos or ye olde milk bar because she reckons they don't do enough trade to ensure freshness. I think I'm in agreement on that one.

As far as the sweetness in my life I have to give a shout out to my blogless buddies (who I sadly cannot link) for keeping their eyes out for items of interest for me. One of the sweet girls I work with sent me this link. There is nothing sweeter that Audrey and "Funny Face" is my favourite of her movies. I'm going to see if I can track down a copy. Thanks Amy.

While I was at Urban Outfitters I noticed this which all though it's a little old is pretty close to home.
