    Popcorn pincushion...
    Popcorn Pincushion

I had a couple of false starts with this one.

I wanted the pincushion to be functional & once I ditched the can everything came together pretty quickly.

    Popcorn Pins

I chopped the heads off some quilting pins (which are MUCH longer than regular pins) so that I could add the popped corn & still keep the pins useable.

I've had fun with the pincushion swap & hope that my partner likes it.

    Blogtober
Lots of lovely girls are joining in.
Not so much a challenge for me but a celebration.
There's much to celebrate this month.
I've always thought of October as a festival.
I think the button is the perfect addition to my sideBAR.

  • In tune...

    In tune...

I owe a fair few tags around the place.

I really honestly tried for the 6th in the 6th as tagged by the Potty Mouth & Jimmy Trickle but I wasn't at all happy with the image.

Then mixtapezine gave me a lovely award.

So when she posted this I thought...BINGO. Here's something that they'll all appreciate.

    Band name: Oleg Fedoseyev
Album name: (size of the) fight in the dog
Album cover: As pictured from here

    Here are the rules.

1 - Go to "wikipedia." Hit “random”or click this. The FIRST random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2 - Go to "Random quotations"or click this. The last FOUR or FIVE words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.

3 - Go to flickr and click on “explore the last seven days”or click this. THIRD picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

    Fun - have a crack.

  • my creative space...

    my creative space...

I'm craving a bit of routine.

I really loved on my desk in 08. It kept me motivated & kept things neat (OK neatish) around the ranch. The management got in the way of the fun but I think I've found the answer.

This year I'm playing my creative space which allows for the roving workspace so many of us enjoy. Details of this weeks offering here.

Each Thursday I'm going to post an image of what's in progress either on my desk, in my spot, on the sofa, desktop, at the kitchen table...whatever. If you'd like to play along & find some new blogs along the way then you just need to post & then pop into my creative space post for the day & paste your post URL into the auto link widget - it will do all the work for us (I hope). What it really means is that all the obligation is taken away... it's an easy game to play & if you're in one week & out the next that's absolutely fine. Everyone will know exactly who has played each week. Sounds simple enough? Keep everything crossed OK.

I'll test to make sure it's working in a second. I've tested & would you believe it - it works. Yip to the pee!

Here's a button if you're into that sort of thing...

    & the code too...

  • What I'm wearing...

    What I'm wearing...

A few lovely folk have offered alternate Wednesday games to play.

Amy's playing on my fridge & Fi's offered "What I'm wearing". I'm going with what I'm wearing because I LOVE what I'm wearing today. I opped (thrifted) this shirt from St Vinnies in Kew! It's gorgeous (although the buttons do tend to pop open at their whim). Ah well it's all foam these days anyway.

The best thing about this shirt is the dialogue that goes along with it...

Friend/Acquaintance/Stranger in the street: "Oooh I love your shirt."
Me: "Isn't it fabulous. It was $2 at Vinnies."

Totally classless I know but I do wear my Op Shopping heart on my sleeve & bargains are like badges of honour.

Finally, how good does my freshly rendered wall look?

  • I'm pretty excited about this...

    I'm pretty excited about this...

& it's coming to the market with me tonight. Details over in the sidebar. Come & say Hi.

I thought you might like to play a little game.

I was thinking of a local blog author when I made this. Do you know who it is? If so read the rules below...

    RULES:
Do NOT comment with their name - you'll only shorten the odds if you do (& I'll delete comments with the answer).
Comment on this post to let me know you're playing with "I'm in".
Schedule a post for 6am Saturday morning with your answer. Just the name is fine.
I'll trawl around on Saturday morning & check out everyone's answers & then...
I'll draw a winner from the correct answers.

If you win...you get one of these little bobbin pendants. They come in a little 20cm x 20cm fabric scrap pouch. It's folded magically to create the pouch & then you just unfold it to reveal your usable fabric. Yep - you can use the pouch in some crafty pursuit. I feel really good about this packaging solution.

    I hope you'll play along.

Edit: How to schedule a post using Blogger.

Look it's easy - you might find it helpful even if you're not playing.

  • The Toy Society ...

    The Toy Society ...

Just before the holidays I received a parcel from The Toy Society. Inside was a beautiful babushka made by Tutti Fruiti.

A quick assessment of her size & shape led me to believe she wasn't a runner!

Earlier this week I packed her into my camel back & gave her the camera. Off we set & these are the shots she took on the run. I'm not sure being a passenger on the run counts for much but she was smiling the whole time so I guess she enjoyed it.

Hays Paddock is a super busy park so she'd have been adopted pretty quickly. You'll be able to track her progress over at The Toy Society.

Thanks for playing along. I'll post them by the end of the week.

for a Kootoyoo Slide Night. I hope you'll all come along.

I'm stringing up an old sheet in the good room & lighting a fire. There will be fondue & a cask of Mozelle - you can even smoke your Alpine ciggies in the house!

I've only been to a couple of Slide Nights in my life (both when I was very young) but I remember them well. Even the boring bits are fun when shared with a good friend & a laugh!

I love holidays. The kids break up from school today - yay hooray! Looking forward to a couple of relaxed and lovely weeks. We've made a few plans & we are really going to enjoy this break.

That means things will be a bit quiet on the blog front ... I'll be sharing holiday slides each day though. I won't be talking much but that doesn't mean you all can't share a giggle & a glass of wine.

You are welcome to bring a plate of classic 70s fare, some slides of your own & a beanbag.

...oooh I think I'll have chicken liver pate as well! 41
