Miserable.
Not so perfect end to the school holidays.

Warm winter glow down in the office at the moment. I'm enjoying being warm inside the house!
The great ACEO hunt isn't going too well. It seems I'm just about the only person with a thing for brown. Maybe I'm searching in the wrong places.
I picked up the daisy swappie at the Op Shop yesterday & now I'm wondering if swappies & vintage fabric swatches might do the trick.
I really like the girls though...I dunno.
On my desk... player list.

My Japanese stacking cup collection is steadily growing. Still haven't got anything as nice as the stackers belonging to Teacup & Evie but I've always got my eyes peeled. These four came to the grand total of 80 cents.
The stack of bias almost broke the bank. I paid $1.

I love the term "tracking square" to describe dating. I've been having lots of dates with the hook lately. The Granny & I are working really hard at our relationship!
My Grannies are eight rounds & beautifully square until round five & then things start to stray a bit. I tried really hard to embrace the wonk just as Jess said, but I can't - I'm flawed, I confess.
I tried to manipulate her a bit...not much luck.
I've changed my approach & I'm now doing a reversible Granny. I like it! A bit more solid in construction & I think the end result will be much more stable.
Lovely & square - just the way I like it. It's all about laying the foundations after all.

This is... hosted by Angela theme from Danielle.
Jill (me), Asterix & Miss Nettles. See Pip, I really am an authority on Pony novels (especially Ruby Ferguson).
My Siblings.
Together we shared a childhood jam packed with fun, adventure & laughter. They were my very best friends then & they are still my very best friends now.
Footnote: Come home BT & never leave CT. I love you both.

Sunday Supper hosted by Meet Me at Mikes.
More breakfasty I know, but when I like something I'll eat it day or night & I really like this.
Smashed Strawberries
1 Punnet Strawberries
2 Pieces of your favourite bread
Cream Cheese
1 Tbs Balsamic Vinegar
Brown Sugar
Preheat oven to 160 C.
Cut the tops off the strawberries. Sprinkle them with sugar & leave to stand for about 15 minutes.
Place cut side down in a baking tray & cook until they smell like jam & start to ooze (about 15 minutes).
Meanwhile toast bread & heat balsamic vinegar & a bit more sugar over low heat to disolve sugar.
Spread toast with cream cheese, top with 3 or 4 strawberries & then "smash" them with a fork.
Drizzle with balsamic mixture & enjoy.

Maybe not the smacks but we are tough love parents (although the date's a bit softer than me).
Dunno if it's going to work out but we seem to be tracking OK so far.
As for the second quote you know I'm 100% behind that!

I like apples (almost as much as pillowcases).
Roadtripping with the kids. Not quite Thelma & Louise but lots of fun. Dialling up to post so I'll catch you all when I'm better connected.

was one of my better appliance purchases.
It hasn't gone the way of the breadmaker.
We use it all the time.
It's great for movie dates at home with the kids (& Slide Nights too).

My heart stopped. I know you get how good she is so I won't rabbit on. Op Shopped in Kew. $3 and worth every cent!
Gem, pass your pav around would you love & Claire, put your ciggie out & have a glass of wine. If you're fashionably late for slide night or just planning a grand entrance. RSVP here.
