It looks just like a baby chick doesn't it? It's not though. It's going to be part of a little embroidered piece I'm working on.

We are all about the colour at the moment...colour for fences...& excitingly colour in the garden too. I'm going out to the nursery with Trace to check out plants this morning.

    Mucho excitement.

Taking a few slow & small stitches. I've been procrastinating with this one for far too many months!

It's light & airy & delicate and it seems lately I've been more about the speed so this has been "back-burnered" more than once.

Time to get on with it.

I'm fighting the big girl for time at the machine today.

I've hacked into an old feed sack & am working on easing gently back into the making.

I wonder if you guys have been making or if like me you've lazed away the summer hols.

& thinking it might be time to dust the old girl off & give her a run.

The decs are popping up all over the place & I'm making some too.

Strips of Liberty at the ready... festive but not too Christmassy so we'll be able to enjoy them all year round.

This is going to be the last Creative Space for 2010. We will fire up again late Jan or early Feb. Take a break from the making...if you like...or don't...but do put your feet up and enjoy some time with your loved ones. Thank you all for making Thursdays such a lovely community day...you're ace!

Remember when I said that I was done with the doily craft? It seems I lied.

I've got a little speedy quick gift idea. Maybe one that might help you guys out in the silly season too. I'm hoping to have a little make along ready for tomorrow.

I'm hooking up a stormy sea.

It's a big huge giant leap for me...I had to put three colours/shades together! You may or may not have noticed that I am generally a one colour girl (or one & white/cream & that really doesn't count). Some people are great with colour & pattern, they splash it about with gay abandon & ALWAYS get it just right. That ain't me...interesting isn't it?

Just a giant mess of chains & ends that I'm hoping will be a little something lovely.

After a bit of encouragement I've dragged out my very bestest vintage sheet set.

I'm unsure where this is heading but they won't be going back in the cupboard unchopped.

I'm starting something else experimental. We'll see if it translates from head to hand eh?

I am thrilled to be using vintage Sunbird cotton. It was made in Brazil especially for Woolcraft. I picked it up at the Op Shop for $2.

I only seem have the head space for the hook at the moment. It's interesting the way things happen in phases isn't it?

I'm just playing around with some paint chips. I've got a little plan for the smallest's room. I think she'll like it.

Oh & I'm plotting my next lino cutting move too & thinking about all the half finished crochet projects I really want to finish up.

    Moving on...

The pencil scribble turned into a lino cutting adventure.

I had a lovely busy weekend...on the hook, on the lino, on the click, in the kitchen & with my family.

There was also a minor (but controlled) adventure with fire.
